arashi with everything

this single was released on july 1st and easily made its way to number 1 in the oricon charts. i am a little biased towards tohoshinki so i was all out on their single "stand by u" instead which ranked 2nd. i have never listened to this arashi song since it broke my tohoshinki expectation.

to cut the story short, i listened to it today and now i know why it ranked 1st. it is a pretty good song. it is catchy and fun.. after listening to it, you somehow feel good. good job... woot woo... this is only the 2nd song after "truth" from arashi that i have truly appreciated. and i have just listened to it for the 3rd time in a row.

While innocent is still busy with his entry,I'd post the song that also contributed to DBSK/Tohoshinski not being able to hit the number 1 spot in the Oricon chart.


The popular group Arashi's new single "Believe/Kumori nochi, Kaisei" debuted at Oricon Daily Ranking's top spot on March 3rd. It had record sales of 215,000, and only in its release date it made it to 2009's 4th best selling single, behind Akimoto Junko's "Ai no mama de..." (sales to date 336,000 since Jan 2008), Kat-tun's "ONE DROP" (sales to date 315,000 since Feb 2009), Shuchishin's "Yowamushi Santa" (sales to date 231,000 since Dec 2008).

Arashi/Yano Kenta starring Satoshi Ohno's "Believe/Kumori nochi, Kaisei" are both theme songs of the movie "Yatterman" (airing March 7th) starring member Sakurai Sho and TV Asahi Drama "Uta no Oniisan" starring Leader, Ohno Satoshi. Right now, it is only 121,000 copies away from 2009's most popular single Akimoto Junko's "Ai no mama de...," so depending on the sales from now on, it may break "Ai no mama de..."'s record sales and become this year's top selling single in just one week's time.

"Believe / Kumori Nochi, Kaisei" (Believe／曇りのち、快晴 ) is the twenty fifth single from the Japanese boy band Arashi released on March 4, 2009. It was released in three editions: a normal edition containing a bonus track and karaoke versions of all the songs released in the single, and two limited edition both containing a DVD with a music video of one of the A-side tracks. It is the first single from the group in 2009, their fifth double A-side release and the first to feature a solo A-side.

The single sold 501,988 in its 1st week, surpassing "Truth/Kaze no Mukō e"'s first week record of 467,288 as well as the first to break half a million in its opening week since KAT-TUN's "Real Face" of 754,000 in April 2006. It officially has the highest 1st week sales of 2009, making "Believe/Kumori Nochi, Kaisei" the best selling single of the year at this point in time.^[1]

It's the group's 2nd best selling 1st week sales figures attained since their debut single A・RA・SHI (557,000).

Wish - Arashi

A year ago, my addiction to anything Asian was limited to Taiwanese and Korean stuff. Until I saw my first jdorama which was Hana Yori Dango. A friend of mine recommended that I watch it. This drama is the Japanese version of the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden. At first I was a bit hesitant to watch it --- as I was afraid that it wouldn't live up to the Taiwanese version. But when I saw it.. boy was I suprised! It was shorter (only total of 20 episodes for hyd 1 and 2).

The beginning song of the drama is also a favorite of mine (notice I have lots of favorite Asian songs :D.. i can't help it!). It was a song called Wish sung by Arashi.  Jun Matsumoto, who played Domyouji Tsukasa in the drama, is one of the members of the Jpop band. I loved the music video of the song.. It had a story of a painter who falls in love with a maiden in a town. He paints the picture of the girl on a big wall to show how much he loves the girl.. sigh.. wish someone would do that for me too ahahaha! I wanted to share this music to everyone so here it is.

Oh, and by the way, Arashi (which means storm in Japanese) is of my favorite jpop groups. They've been in the industry for almost 10 years now and they've been giving us good songs. Most of the songs are usually themes from the dramas or movies of their members. I love this group! Arashi.. arashi for dream!!!
