KAT-TUN with Lips

I'm not actually a fan of Kat-tun but one of the admin is. *read as: tiny น่ารัก. Although, I'm a little bias when it comes to Kamenashi Kazuya and Akanishi Jin.haha That's why I'm posting some rare finds I've come across.

This song is a little old but I like how this song rocks. I just discovered this while browsing through some of my Jpop compilation. The PV is absolute love too..Kame is smokin in this. hahaha Oops, I'm a little bias again. But see to appreciate.

"Lips" is the sixth single by Japanese boy band, KAT-TUN, and the third and last song to be commercially released from their third studio album, KAT-TUN III -Queen of Pirates-. The single was released in three editions and as such, there are three different covers; the regular edition contains the title track, the B-side and its instrumental tracks, the first press edition came with a bonus track entitled "Message for You" and its instrumental version and the second limited edition was packaged with a DVD with the music video and a short film about the making of the PV.

The single was released on February 26, 2008 and became KAT-TUN's sixth consecutive number 1 single on the Oricon weekly singles charts & LIPS is the 9th most sold single in 2008 according to Oricon .

Promotion

KAT-TUN performed the song on television for the first time on their own variety show Cartoon KAT-TUN on January 12, 2008. The group also sung on Music Station on February 1 and February 8, 2008, Fuji TV's Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ on February 4 and on NTV's Music Fighter on February 8.

Chart performance

In its first week of release, "Lips" made its bow at number one on the Oricon singles chart knocking off Thelma Aoyama's "Soba ni Iru ne" from the top spot with 351,254 copies sold. It is the group's sixth consecutive chart-topper since their debut. The song spent 15 weeks on the chart and has reportedly sold over 421,902 copies to date. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan in February 2008.

KAT-TUN with Rescue

the song that stopped DBSK's 6th consecutive reign in oricon chart.

a little backgrounder before the song. KAT-TUN is a six member group under Johnny's Entertainment. like other JE talents, KAT-TUN is not only involved in singing and dancing but they are also into acting and hosting. quite an all rounder. initially, KAT-TUN was only meant to be a dancing unit to support Koichi Domoto (a big name in japan music industry). however, KAT-TUN gained a great deal of attention so the formation was kept and KAT-TUN remains a solid unit.

the group name, KAT-TUN, was taken from the member's initials as below.

 * Akanishi Jin, 赤西仁, (born July 4, 1984) 

 * Taguchi Junnosuke, 田口淳之介, (born November 29, 1985)

and now for the main event. the song Rescue was released last march 11 and successfully taken the top spot in the oricon chart. what a good welcome for a comeback.
