C.N. Blue vs. Ynot

The K-Pop scene has been plagued with controversies these days. The biggest one to date is the alleged plagiarism done by the newcomer C.N. Blue of their debut single 'I'm a Loner', of Ynot's 'Bluebird'.

The news is widespread over the internet. There were even reports that Ynot is planning to take legal actions against the group.

FNC Music, C.N. Blue's agency, stated that the allegations were "unbelievable!" According to a post on allkpop, Ynot is not really after C.N. Blue. They clarified in a statement that they are trying to settle the issue "rationally and appropriately" with the composers of 'I'm a Loner', and that they have nothing against the band. They added that if they fail to settle the issue amicably, they would have to consider taking legal actions.

Several netizens have pointed out the distinct similarities of the two songs. A video uploaded on YouTube even played the songs at the same time. According to the same post on allkpop, it was not Ynot who brought up the plagiarism allegations, but the netizens.

Allegations of plagiarism is almost commonplace in the K-Pop business. It may sound like it's not serious, but the people in the K-Pop industry should find this alarming. Probably in its effort to come up with a sure hit, the composers turn to others for 'inspiration'. But there's a thin line between inspiration and imitation.

T'ara just released a new single called 'I Go Crazy Because of You' and the video uploaded on YouTube generated a lot of criticism. Mostly because the song sounded a lot like 'If You Seek Amy' and 'Womanizer', both by Britney Spears.

Let us all hope that FNC Music settles this quietly with Ynot, and that the agency will be more cautious with their song choices next time.

I see that it has been quite some time since the last post. I'll try to post some updates here - like new MVs, new songs or albums for 2010.

To start off, this is 2AM's comeback from their mini album "Can't Let You Go Even If I Die" or 죽어도 못 보내.

Changmin is trying to sport a new look -- this time without his specs. He has mentioned in variety shows before that he does not really wear one but was required by management. ^^

The song is about heartbreak and how he 'can't let her go even if he dies'. Awww... I love the video and IMHO, the boys have given the video and the song justice with their very good acting. I mean, I have always seen Changmin or Jo Kwon act silly in variety shows like Star Golden Bell or Star King, so the video is a far cry from their variety show antics. ^.^

taeyang is back with the official main track of his new single. and i thought where u at was good but taeyang still bested it with wedding dress. there is something with the tone and mood of this song which captivates you and make you ride an emotional roller coaster. this is a must for all to see.

the mv was well made. it was so sad. great concept. and great vocals. the mv reminded me of dbsk's doushite kimi wo suki ni natte shimattandarou but i don't really mind. i'm resisting myself to write some more but it would be really best to watch the video and be touched. go taeyang!

ok this is a hit. when i first heard of the song, i already knew it will be on the charts.

following fellow member dara's kiss, bom recently released you and i. and just like the predecessor, this one is another success for the group 2ne1. wow, they are surely adding more and more hits to their name.

you and i featured bom's vocal which is good. the song really soothes her, it's more on the emo side of things. no catching of breaths needed. and with the release of the mv recently, the song has no where to go but stay on top of the charts.

author's comment: i'm not really a fan of bom but this song is great. honestly, listening to the song makes me imagine bom's weird mouth structure which kind of irks me. but putting the fact that bom is the artist, i'm sure i'd love this more.

as i have said earlier, october is full of testosterone. wahahaha... here is another boy group which debuted this month.

this groups is quite weird. they started with the name b2st (boys to search the top) and named their album beast is the b2st. but then later on, they changed the group name to beast. i don't know the logic behind it now. but somehow, their logo can be read as both beast and b2st -- e and a was placed side by side and resembles a 2. cryptic. wahaha.

though the name is confusing, the talent is not. the group has familiar faces in it from past group fail-outs (sorry for the term but i just don't know another word), to past solo artist. meet the members below.
